Bridge Elementary School Ratings & Reviews

The administration has become so lenient partly because CPS as a whole does not condone disciplinary actions towards unruly students and partly because the principal is young and attempts to appease all. Teaching/Learning has suffered since Covid. This school doesn't believe in homework, vocabulary lists and tests as they much rather have students work in school only. Not quite sure how this belief assists in achieving higher academics as a whole when you take away the opportunities for continued education and then have the same standards when it comes to testing.Let’s not even get into the bullying that occurs and how ineffective the recess and lunch team are with their roles. You can drive by the schools and see them huddled in groups chit chatting instead of interacting with the students. Consequences are minimal and parents need to be held accountable for their students actions. My children have been in this school since little with one graduate. So we’ve seen it all, heard it all and experienced a lot first hand.

My daughter has been attending Bridge since kindergarten. She has had supportive, intentional teachers who have positively impacted her well-being. She looks forward to attending school to learn new things. The staff at the school is familiar with my daughter because meaningful relationships are developed outside of the classroom as well. I feel very confident that my daughter is in a nurturing school environment.

My Children have been attending bridge since pre-k and every year the school exceeds my expectations. Mr Guercio is a great principal and is very attentive to the schools needs. The asst. principal’s, teachers and staff are amazing. The counseling department brings a nuance to the school and shows children social skills, problem solving, conflict resolution and understanding their feelings. I have been involved in various situations and each incident has been resolved in an expeditious manner and with care and respect to all involved. The PAWS program is second to none, and the policies instituted and enforced by Mr. Guercio’s staff have brought on dramatic changes. The school community is strong due to the Friends of Bridge (FOB) and their grandiose school and community events. No school is perfect but I like to say Bridge almost is.

The staff at Bridge cares so much about their students. They go above and beyond in many instances. Social emotional health is an important priority at the school. There is much community, involvement and parent involvement. The relationships built among students, staff and parent goes above and beyond!

GreatSchools Ratings are based on student performance on state tests, progress over time, and college readiness, in addition to how effectively schools serve students from different racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average). Ratings and reviews help parents compare schools. We encourage parents to also visit schools, ask questions, learn about programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process. Data provided by © 2025. All rights reserved.
