Central High School Test Scores

Central High School Ratings & Reviews

There was a lot of bullying and snottiness between students. The teachers seemed really disconnected, like they were more focused on us passing on tests than seeing us as individuals learning.I met a lot of subpar teachers there, and felt very unwelcome by my counselor. She openly told me she couldn’t wait to stop working there and I was made to feel as though she didn’t care when I came to her for help.I had teachers who would deliberately not want to answer questions, teachers who would shop online and snapchat students instead of helping, teachers who would leave the classroom for long amounts of time when we had questions. There was even a teacher who openly mocked and challenged the validity of my learning disability in front of other students. The gym teacher also didn’t care that I had asthma and I ended up failing gym class once despite the fact that I was doing the best I could with that condition. There are a few teachers there who really did have a passion for teaching students. Unfortunately in my experience, there were a lot who were there to get a paycheck, not teach students.

Academically this is a great school, however the athletic director is a rude, overbearing ( Central Alum) slovenly oaf who handpicks his buddies to coach & most of them don't have a clue!

"The teachers of Central High were mostly great teachers. There's some that I just didn't think understood how to teach a class of adolescence. Best school in Cheyenne even though the students were very rude to me. Alot of the teachers never said anything because the students doing it were the "" sporty, girly"" students, and that's just what that school is about. The students were less accepting of any peers who were different than the teachers. Bullying was a big thing in Central even though it was not often brought to the attention of the staff. Otherwise there are some great teachers at Central. Mr.lee (art teacher) being above all. Very understanding of the kids he teaches but also strict enough to learn in his class."

GreatSchools Ratings are based on student performance on state tests, progress over time, and college readiness, in addition to how effectively schools serve students from different racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average). Ratings and reviews help parents compare schools. We encourage parents to also visit schools, ask questions, learn about programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process. Data provided by © 2025. All rights reserved.
