Kindergarten and 1st grade were great for my son because of the specific teacher he had. We started having trouble with the quality of his learning in 2nd grade. Once we had to engage with administration with complaints for the first time, our experience was terrible. I would say that although they have some great teachers here and there, for the most part things are a bit chaotic and they do not give minority students the same type of attention they give other students, which is clear from their stats on this site. My son fortunately got a good start because of his first teacher, but overall I would not recommend this school. Now that I'm removing him from public school I'm finding out how many other parents feel the same way and have removed their children.

The school nurse is very unprofessional and does not seek to follow the law. She only contacts one parent and not both if a child is sick even after being informed that the child lives with the parents separately. So, when the custodial parent calls for information the nurse is very reluctant to give it and tries to suggest that the parents have to discuss these things with one another. Unfortunately, some times that is simply impossible. Instead of exhibiting friendly services or seeking to properly do her job for the well-being of a child, she actually took it upon herself to say she does not want to be involved in a “custody battle”. As a working professional I would’ve expected any employee of Hubenak staff to know that they should know that any custodial parents have a right to be informed of their children’s Health and Education needs at all times. According to Texas law, the school has an obligation to keep parents informed upon request without bias and that unfortunately does not happen here. The unprofessionalism is appalling to say the least. No employee should be allowed to inform a parent of their partaking in irrelevant gossip with another parent concerning legal matters. Fort Bend County laws should be followed as it pertains to each student equally when it comes to child safety and parents being informed. Unless the staff can be effectively trained in how to communicate with parents I do not recommend this school.

Both of my daughters go to Hubenak and they can't wait for Monday to go to School. School principal is amazing and always involved and helping others. Parents are welcomed at School to support activities during science fairs, and other holiday related festivals. Kids are doing great and no complaints for the last 3 years. My daughters are in Pre-K and 2nd grade.

My kids have been at this school for 6 years, and we could not be happier! The staff is the best around, and the principal works incredibly hard for the school and the families. We’re thankful to call Hubenak home.
