Lakeview Junior High School Test Scores

Lakeview Junior High School Ratings & Reviews

The administration both principal and vice principal do not appear to care about students. During the 7th great welcoming day they were more focused on their phones than they were on welcoming new students and their parents. There are a couple of dedicated teachers but many that are phoning it in. It feels very prison-like; some of the rules are rigid.

My experience at lakeview was very good. All of the teachers strongly care about their students and work hard to make sure there students have the learning tools they need involved with fun as well.

Unfortunately, Lakeview has taken a nosedive in the past 2-3 years. The teachers are still wonderful, however, some serious issues - out of their control - weigh the score down. 1) The budget disaster & huge cuts distracted the faculty and the kids have been short-chjanged. 2) No lockers, no books. Books NEVER go home. The students get copied pages of the textbook section they need, but they can't read ahead, use reference material, etc. The lack of lockers may not seem like a huge issue, but wait until you have had to pay for the gym clothes THREE times in three months. At $50 a pop, it becomes ridiculous. Would you leave your unlocked car in a high-crime area with the keys in the ignition? 30-40% of the kids who go to there are not zoned for Lakeview. There is no oversight on this crippling problem.

GreatSchools Ratings are based on student performance on state tests, progress over time, and college readiness, in addition to how effectively schools serve students from different racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average). Ratings and reviews help parents compare schools. We encourage parents to also visit schools, ask questions, learn about programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process. Data provided by © 2025. All rights reserved.
