Longleaf Middle School Ratings & Reviews

This school has little to no parent engagement. Most of the teachers don’t seem to care much about grades or students turning in assignments. My daughter has been there for two years and not once have I been contacted about grades or behavior good or bad. Unless it’s an extreme event such as a fight. I wouldn’t suggest sending kids to long leaf. The entire public schooling in this state horrible.

"Longleaf middle is, in my opinion, the best middle school in the area. Every morning when I walk in to school, teachers greet me with a simple ""good morning"", and even though I'm sure they do that for every student, it helps me start my day with a positive attitude. The teachers are all incredibly kind and intelligent, and always help me when I have bad grades. They truly understand that despite my bad grades, I really do have potential. They have helped me bring up my grades all year. The school lunches could use a little work, but that's the case for any public school. Their safety procedures during CoViD-19 are keeping the students safe, and are very effective. I haven't heard of any outbreaks in the school thus far. Each student gets a personalized learning experience, as the teachers care about each of their students. For me, the teachers were glad to tutor me during the week. I'm happy to say this is the best middle school I've ever attended."

GreatSchools Ratings are based on student performance on state tests, progress over time, and college readiness, in addition to how effectively schools serve students from different racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average). Ratings and reviews help parents compare schools. We encourage parents to also visit schools, ask questions, learn about programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process. Data provided by © 2025. All rights reserved.
