In my opinion, it’s good. They have many electives such as band, choir, theatre/musical threatre, etc. in 7 and 8 grade, they are able to in play football games if they are in athletics. There are many other sports such as tennis, golf, and track. Smaller electives include art, digital art, etc. 6th graders are required to have keyboarding and health. More info is in their actual school website

In general, it's a nice school with good equipment and staff. I would recommend to know English and know how to use technology. 6th graders will not have a hard time making friends. 7th and 8th graders are more rebellious and would be better to have friends in 6th grade. Some also swear and can do drugs, but it's best to avoid them. Most teachers are either strict on talking or just requires work to be finished. Students that talk a lot of do not listen may fail on tests, and the teachers do not appreciate talking while they are explaining something. They do provide a GT program, Band, Athletics, and Choir. There are also elective classes (Digital art, art, STEM) so it's nice for students that want to learn more. The schedule relies on Red and Black days, but it won't be hard to keep track. It's very important to study, though. They occasionally have field trips. Technology at home is important, as many teachers have Google Classroom, but you can talk with them if you do not have technology at home.

Beautiful campus, but not a great environment. The principal is lacking leadership, the teachers and councilor are bigger bullies than some teenagers. They do have a big bullying problem amongst students as well and with the teachers participating along with them, then there is no chance for kids that are not already popular or athletic. If you are moving in to the area, choose a different school for your kids. This campus is not very welcoming to outsiders.

Laura Bush is a great school for regular kids who are athletic and fit in and learn in the box. For kids with special needs or dyslexic kids, it may not be the best fit. Learning outside of the box or needing special accommodations may be hard to find at Laura Bush. The teachers are nice and work hard but have to teach to the test so if your child can't perform on the test then it will be difficult environment for them. Technology is good and the facilities are great. Nice neighborhoods and parent involvement.

GreatSchools Ratings are based on student performance on state tests, progress over time, and college readiness, in addition to how effectively schools serve students from different racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average). Ratings and reviews help parents compare schools. We encourage parents to also visit schools, ask questions, learn about programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process. Data provided by © 2025. All rights reserved.
