MVHS students have made tremendous improvements since Principal Ms. Pauline Pearce took over the position. There are very few disputes between students as in the past. Ms. Pearce strict no-nonsense rules are great improvement to students & parents. All in all I am very proud of my son’s achievement in attending MVHS. THANK YOU!

My child is supposed to take his ACT at this school right now. Is 9:25am and he is texting me he did not start his test yet. There are no adults in sight and kids are waiting outside the rooms. The doors were supposed to open at 7:30 am, they were not. They let the kids in at 7:50 am. My child has been to other schools to take his SAT and ACT in NY, NJ and CT. This is the worst school, disorganized. Please please avoid this school as a testing site.- Update after the ACT test. If this could not get any worse than before, it just did. My child finished the ACT, and told me that the proctor was extremely rude to the students. He cut their breaks short and he was rushing them to finish early. The students were not given the whole time they supposed to have. These students worked hard and I am sure sacrificed part of the summer to get ready for this test and than all their hard work was treated like garbage. I know because my child did that and felt like all his work was treated like a joke by this institution. My child is an Honors student top of his school class.

Mi experiencia con esta escuela es la mala comunicación para los padres que hablamos español.y los maestros no colaboran para animar los estudiantes a cumplir sus metas muestran mucho desinterés por la educación de los estudiantes.....

I have had three children attend, one in special ed. I have found the teachers to be caring and accessible. The options for course work are wide and varied and there is a resurgence of vocational programming that is very good. The school has an active PTA and an excellent sports program. The statistics are steadily improving. There is an IB program now. I see only good things happening.

GreatSchools Ratings are based on student performance on state tests, progress over time, and college readiness, in addition to how effectively schools serve students from different racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average). Ratings and reviews help parents compare schools. We encourage parents to also visit schools, ask questions, learn about programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process. Data provided by © 2025. All rights reserved.
