My daughter attended NF all 4 years and our experience in regards to her was okay, but not great. Counselors are not helpful, although we found some amazing teachers who really care about the students (Mrs. Holloway goes above & beyond). My daughter was very active and involved all 4 years. She was in the AVID program which is supposed to help prepare child for college & help with current classes, teach note taking, effective study habits, tour colleges & help students apply for colleges and grants, etc. The class was a joke. They did tour a few colleges but they didn't help with the application process, provide tools or information for college readiness or anything. In fact, after 1.5 years of being in the program, my daughter received a 67 in math & they kicked her out. Didn't try to help her or provide healthy study techniques to get her back on track, just kicked her out. Then had the nerve to ask if they could keep her as a student aid for the same class she was just kicked out of. Ummm... no thank you. On a positive note, I actually teared up during the fashion show at the end of the year. Every student in the auditorium cheered, clapped & supported EVERY designer & model equally! I've never seen anything like it. The student body didn't boo or make fun of anyone on that stage... at least not during the show. I was in awe of the encouragement they gave each other! That never happened in all my years of high school. My son started 9th grade when my daughter was in 12th. His experience was awful, but that was due to his hanging out with a bad group of kids. Teachers tried to help him & I to get him back on track, but my son never put effort into his school work & things went from bad to worse. There has been a huge shift in the types of kids going to NF over the 4 years. I don't blame the school for my son's experience, it was a combination of teenage rebellion & influence of bad friends that took him down a bad path. I am grateful the teachers & counselors tried to help us get our son back on track.... on the other hand, I'm less than happy that my daughter never received the guidance she deserved, especially when she was struggling with math. She graduated with high grades and I'm so proud of her accomplishments! Just wish the school would have lived up to the AVID program & helped us navigate college applications!

This school is okay but the main problem I have with them is the counselors. They messed up my schedule; I took Geometry last year and this year I was supposed to take Algebra II. Well they gave me Algebra 1 and listed me as a 9th grader (note I didnt fail any classes last year) and I was one of the first people to fill out a schedule change form and while the other students waited from atleast 10 minutes to 2 days they're made me wait 1 week so far and I go to the counseler's office everyday and the lady in front is not letting me put a foot in counselour's office but most students literally walk in and ignore the lady and go straight to the counselour's office. I really don't understand what's taking them so long they have like 5-6 counselers who each are in charge of a porportion of the students by their last name (A-G,H-U etc.) It shouldn't take her that long. Hopefully they'll see this review because I'm a week behind Alg. 2 and forced to be in a class I took two years ago.I never been to a school so lasy. I had a problem with the counselers last year because they took so long to change my schedule to basketball which required me to miss 2 games because I didnt know any plays.

Large school with diverse curriculum. Easy to get lost in the large class sizes, but driven students will thrive here. Only one bad experience with an instructor during my tenure, and I do believe this issue was resolved. Graduated from this school and went on to obtain Bachelor's and Master's in Engineering.
