I have had two children at Pleasant Hill and cannot say enough positive things about this school. We moved to MS from the Northeast and I was so nervous about the type of education they would receive. We couldn’t be happier with the experience our children have had over the past 5 years.

The best elementary school in DeSoto County! I can not say enough about this school. From administration, teachers, librarian, food workers and even the custodians….THEY ARE ALL AWESOME! Magee, Shaw and Duett are phenomenal leaders and I can not thank them enough. My three foster children now adopted started their new lives at this school and they had all of our backs 100%. Happy to be part of the Jaguar family forever!

My son is both gifted and on the autism spectrum. I was told this was the best school for him and I'm so glad we chose Pleasant Hill! The teachers truly love these kids and challenge them to learn and grow. We moved here from the midwest and I'm not going to lie - I was worried about the schools in Mississippi. But Pleasant Hill is hands down the BEST school my kids have ever gone to. A lot of the teachers are beloved by the students because they are just so upbeat and friendly and go out of their way to help the kids succeed. 10 out of 10!

They child did not learn anything. He was doing perfectly fine until we transferred into this district. I called the school front office one time and they told me my child didn’t attend there. Mind you he had been enrolled for months at this point. His teacher would brush him off and completely disregard him. I have made the decision to place my son back into private schooling after this experience. They wanted to place labels on my child anyway that they could. Instead of providing an environment where he could learn he was singled out and disregarded.

GreatSchools Ratings are based on student performance on state tests, progress over time, and college readiness, in addition to how effectively schools serve students from different racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average). Ratings and reviews help parents compare schools. We encourage parents to also visit schools, ask questions, learn about programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process. Data provided by © 2025. All rights reserved.
