I moved here from Gateway school district. Gateway was horrible....Plum district has been a godsend!

Very disappointed with the school. The district puts so much on PSSA tests, a student can have high percentage average throughout all their classes but are stuck in remedial classes because they bombed their PSSA tests. This leaving the child who is excelling and not being challenged in remedial classes bored and without an adequate education. Very disappointed with the school and their policies essentially refusing to hear parent and children complaints and not allowing a child to be challenged educationally. Sad when a child asks to go to boarding school so she can be challenged.

Great school in a great upcoming community. Outstanding teachers in this Junior High that are not only professional but extremely well educated. Very safe area and school district is becoming one of the top in the east suburbs. Easy to find brand new and existing housing in the borough.

I was very disappointed with this middle school. My son went from being an elementary student that excelled at the top of his class to failing 5 classes in 7th grade. One teacher got involved and worked closely with him and he did pass the class; however the remaining teachers were apathetic, and his Reading teacher was downright hostil! The guidance counselor made promises of involvement that were never kept. I understand that entering 7th grade is a big adjustment for the student, and my son did have issues and just didn't want to be at school. But I do feel the teachers and guidance counselor should have worked more closely with my son and I to try to find answers and solutions to the issues instead of just writing him off. Hopefully 8th grade will be a better year, or I will pull him from Plum School District!

GreatSchools Ratings are based on student performance on state tests, progress over time, and college readiness, in addition to how effectively schools serve students from different racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average). Ratings and reviews help parents compare schools. We encourage parents to also visit schools, ask questions, learn about programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process. Data provided by © 2025. All rights reserved.
