Provo Peaks School Ratings & Reviews

This is a heavy Latino school, where I rarely see the Administration. I feel my children are quite literally in prison, either locked inside or locked outside (at recess) the school. A parent must use a particular bathroom, get a visitor pass ALWAYS, and stand behind a rope line waiting for a small child. While I see the safety measures, I feel insecure and unsafe here. My child's fourth grade CAS teacher is GREAT! it is literally the ONLY thing they have going for them, as far as I'm concerned. A large percentage of the teachers here are NEW to the school this year. No retention or loyalty? It is a huge sacrifice to drop off and pick up my child for the CAS program. With buses canceled this Fall and with several students attending various grades at other local schools, it is a huge sacrifice to come here. Too much. I am pulling my student out and will homeschool or enroll in a local school (that is higher rated, knows me, and is warm and friendly).

My kids have attended Provo Peaks Elementary for fours years now (since it was re-built) and absolutely love it! The teachers and staff are very caring and attentive to the needs of their students. The school offers state of the art facilities and technology. The school also offers a specialty arts program (1 1/2 hours, twice a week) for the upper grades that includes orchestra, drama, art/drawing and dance. There are also several affordable after-school programs to choose from like art, cooking and robotics/Lego League with a plan to add several more in the coming years.I also really appreciate the diversity of the students at this school. The school houses the Provo School District Special Needs Education as well as the CAS program (Gifted and Talented). Its been really rewarding to see kids of all different abilities and backgrounds get along and be respectful to each other. For example, my son loved watching and cheering for the students participating in the Special Olympics. The school also invited guests from the Clark Planetarium to perform some physics and space demonstrations--which was a hit!My kids have made wonderful friends here and have loved their teachers! My kids test very well and I've always found the teachers excited and happy to find ways to challenge and help them improve. No experience is perfect, but I've always found that the teachers and administration are easy to talk to and happy to help solve any concerns that arise. I definitely recommend this school! Its one of the best kept secrets in Provo!

"School was completely rebuilt in 2011 and is now called Provo Peaks Elementary. They have a special emphasis on technology: ""The school has four mobile computer labs that are networked with wireless Internet and are brought around to the classrooms for use and instruction. There are also computers in every classroom that are networked to the Internet. Each classroom is equipped with Promethean Boards which allow for interactive lessons. The school also has three Emint classrooms and one iPad classroom."""

GreatSchools Ratings are based on student performance on state tests, progress over time, and college readiness, in addition to how effectively schools serve students from different racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average). Ratings and reviews help parents compare schools. We encourage parents to also visit schools, ask questions, learn about programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process. Data provided by © 2025. All rights reserved.
