This is a very good small town high school with caring and capable teachers and administrators. It is like anything else - you get out of it what you are willing to put into it. There is only so much you can reasonably expect from a school in a town of 4,000 people. Perhaps the main issue the ratings people have with SCHS is that it is 80 percent white and doesn’t have a lot of money to spend, but that simply reflects the area it serves. My child is a senior this year. He has felt happy and loved by teachers and administrators alike, has taken advantage of the opportunities offered him, and has been accepted into a major university.

I am a former student of SCHS and not proud to see the direction of the school. I think there are interior problems with the school as far as a weak administration is concerned. Issues dwell within the supporting staff of the front office. The school is still thriving to receive what little funds it receives from the lacking revenue receiving community.
