This school discriminates against any race that isn't the standard white American. Just from the percentages, you can make that inference. If you're not high middle class to middle class, and white, then there's no future for you to get from the school and their discrimination. They make it a point to discipline only colored students for their wrongs. The standard Caucasian student can get into physical altercations and be expelled for the rest of the semester but if a colored student does it, they are expelled for the rest of their high school career at this institution.

As a student this is pathetic. Most of the administration don't care about the students and even some members of the facility(teachers). I shouldn't have to be fearful for my safety when I am simply going to school. Plus my parent should be made aware if there is something to be concerned about, but no. Why bother?? They say that they won't tolerate bullying yet whenever students go to administration about being bullied or harassed nothing is ever done. Besides why would they care about this students mental/emotional well-being.... They simply don't. At this point this school is only good for its athletics and nothing more. There are a wide variety of classes offered but with how jammed packed our schedules are no one wants to have an unnecessary amount of homework. Shocking that a student would like to have a home life. I have no doubt this school is going to get worse and worse as the year's go on, I've seen it as I am a junior and I can tell you each year the freshman are worse than the last. And since their behavior is never corrected it just continues. For the sake of your child/students well-being don't send them here.

"Although there are many opportunities and classes offered at Harrison High School, and there are many strong dedicated teachers there. I would not recommend it. Unfortunately, the upper level administration (principal and vice principals) do not address behavior issues within the school, and there are no consequences for breaking rules. Although they show videos about preventing bullying, and it not being allowed at the school, they allow bullying and harassment to occur, and when reported, they tell you that it will ""only get worse"" if they address it."

Harrison offers a large variety of classes. Teachers and counselors really care about student success in and out of the classroom.

GreatSchools Ratings are based on student performance on state tests, progress over time, and college readiness, in addition to how effectively schools serve students from different racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average). Ratings and reviews help parents compare schools. We encourage parents to also visit schools, ask questions, learn about programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process. Data provided by © 2025. All rights reserved.
